So on wednesday we were supposed to have a lesson with the Salinas family but they canceled because half of the family was sick. I was super disappointed. We did have a good lesson with the Pedro family. The husband is a recent convert and is so awesome. I love them so much. They are going through some problems right now, but things seem to being going better now. We talked with them about tithing because that was one of the problems the husband had. He said he would pay it. Funny and sad story. The wife is named Ashley. She went to get her haircut and this lady gave her an aweful haircut and cut it super short. It was so bad. So then her husband just cut it all the same length and she is basically bald now. She had long hair before too. It is kind of sad, but she doesn't look bad.
Then on Thursday we had interviews with president so that was cool. I also got jadyns letter and wrote her back so she should get that soon. We also played some more basketball with these kids. They were a little better than the kids from the Monday. It was fun though. Then that night we had a lesson with Ernesto and we met his wife. She is super nice, but also catholic. Not active though. We are pretty sure that they aren't married either so that is a problem. We had a really good lesson though and we are going back tonight.
Then on friday we had an awesome lesson with angel. He is the eternigator. We talked about his baptism date and just baptism in general and he seems super excited and determined to be baptized. He also gave us some super good tacos. The wife is also opening up to us. She seems to be nicer and nicer every time. Then that night we also had a lesson with this guy named Mateo. He is pretty cool he seems really willing to do stuff and we are going back next Tuesday. He is 24 and is from honduras. Super cool kid.
Then on saturday we found this new investigator in this nice house. We will see what happens with him thiugh. We have been trying to look for hispanics in the nicer houses right now so that they are a little more stable and solid. So far we have only found one, but with time it will happen. Then that night we fiund this super cool potencial lady. She let us right in. They were playing a game called 31. It wasn't 21 but it was basically the same game. We played and i won two of the times. She said we could come back on tuesday so we will do that.
Now on Sunday we thought that all these people were going to come to church but when they were passing the sacrament no one was there. Then when after they had passed out the sacrament Ernesto walked in! It was awesome! He didn't stay for the last two hours, but he talked to some people after. Angel and his family didnt come and neither did Mateo. I really though they were going to come too. Then at night we fiund one of our investigators that we had been looking for for a while. We had a good little lesson with him. It was a pretty good week.
So i finished the famous war chapters in the Book of alma this week. My whole life i had never liked them. Usually most people like them but for some reason i havent. Well this time around I actually really enjoyed them. I tried to look for one thing that i could learn in every chapter and i did it I really love the stories of helaman and the 2000 stripping warriors. There is a verse that says that they had a strength that no one before had had because of their faith. These boys were strengthened by god while others tried to increase their strength physically. I loved how through god I can become stronger then anyone else. I hope you all are doing what the prophet has asked us to do and read in the Book of mormon daily. I hope you all have a wonderful week.
