2-12-18 - Week 71 - Monday, February 12, 2018

Hey people. Hope you are all doing fantastic. This week was a fast One! I cant believe that it is already Monday! I hope you all have a womderful week and a wonderful Valentine's day. This week we taught some lessons, some people came to church and it was all good. The eternigator, angel garcia, is on date and is going to get baptized on that day. We are 95% sure of it! We are super excited! We also have been teaching Jose Ernesto and he is doing amazing! So things are going great and very smoothly here in the great city of Manassas.

So this week on Monday we went and taught Jose Ernesto. We met his wife and taught her a little bit of english. She doesn't seem too excited and we don't think that they are married either which could pose a few problems. The lesson overall went good though and he seems to be liking everything and understanding it

Now for Tuesday. We found this guy named Douglas that is super nice. He was super sick when we taught him. We will see what happens. That night we also taught angel. We actually juwt read with him so he can hopefully start reading more. He is so awesome and has his baptismal date for March 21. We really think that He will reach it. It would be super awesome because He has been coming to church for more than 7 years now. He is doing super good. We then went and taught this guy named Mateo. He has promised us two weeks in a row now that he would come to church but he hasn't.

Then on wednesday we went by this less active member. She had told us thst she was looking for other churches. She is always listening to preachers and stuff. She taught us how to pray which was very interesting. She is super aweosme though and came to church and brought her daughter too. We invited her to listen to a talk from the prophet. She said she would. We are going to go back next Wednesday. We then had an awesome lesson with the Salinas family. They are doing super good. The wife is slowly coming around. She made us some dinner. We then taught the plan of salvation and talked to Jason about baptism. He seems like he wants stl do it, but now he just needs to talk to his mom. Hopefully that goes good. We then went by this new family that just moved in. They are super aweosme. We then went by the Pedro family. I love those guys so much. Lucio is doing a lot better now and Ashley said they could come to church even with her hair. They did too! They are so awesome! Wednesdays are some of my favorite days!

On thursday we had district meeting and it was good. We then played some basketball with these kids and it was a lot of fun. We then had the chance to go give one of the hermanas a blessing. She is going home this coming week and is nervous about going home. Then that night we met with Jose Ernesto again. He is so awesome. We taught the Sabbath day and he seemed to understand it all. He said he would be at church too. His son was super crazy though. He is 2 and was super quiet at first but then started going crazy with energy and right before he left he started crying. It was definitely a roller coaster of emotions.

Then on friday we had another lesson with Mateo. He promised us he would be at church, but sadly he wasn't there... We then went by to visit Angel, but he was still working. His wife Mercedes was there though. So when I first started visiting angel and his family with my other companion elder Deschepper she didn't even want to talk to us at all. So we would just talk to angel. Over these past few months she has slowly come around. She even gave us some tacos last week, but on friday angel wasnt there because he was still working. He was working until 9:30 that night. Mercedes let us in though even though she was super sick with the flu. We ended up giving her a blessing. It was funny because her name was super hard to remember. Even the member that was with us couldnt remember it. We eventually gave her the blessing though. It is just cool to see how much she has opened up to us in the past few months.

Saturday was kind of a long and rainy day. We didn't have a whole lot of luck. We did find this new investigator. She is very nice but we will see how well she progresses. She goes to an evangelical church and had a hard tike accepting the prophets that live now because their names arent in the bible. We eventually got her to read a talk by Russell m nelson though which we thought was a success. It was a solid day in the end looking back.

Sunday was super good. Angel and Jose Ernesto both dame to church. Angel stayed for the first two hours. He was going to stay for all three but his wife was calling him so he had to go home. Then Jose Ernesto stayed for all 3 hours and he seemed very comfortable. In the second hour we talked abiut the fall of Adam and eve and he seemed to be loving it. It was a super solid day. Then we also met with some members that night. One of them is less active and the other is a recent convert. It was super good to be with them. They are from Venezuela and Dominican republic. It was overall a good night.

So this transfer I have learned a lot about patience. It has helped that my companion has been studying it too. He told me how patience is more than juat waiting. It is also doing something while waiting. That is when it comes to diligence and faith. I know that i have learned so much this past transfer. I am amazed with how much I can learn here and i truly enjoy learning more. I really wish I would have paid more attention in school and especially at church. I hope you all have a good week and do something good for someone. Or since it is Valentine's day tell someone you love them! Love you guys
