Well on last Monday night we had two lessons! We had this lesson with this family. They are super catholic, but we are going back today and hopefully they will open up and hear us out. We then went and read with angel in the Book of mormon. We are trying to get him to read more consistently in the Book so that he can be baptized on March 21. He seems to be getting a little unsure about that date.
Then on tuesday we met with this lady named Ana. She like loves the church and has been taught for a while now. She just has trouble coming to church and meeting with us consistently. She says she wants to take things slow, but they are super slow. Well we got in and stated talking to her. So back story real fast. A few weeks ago we were meeting with her and she was more just asking us a bunch of questions. So side story also. We used to teach her brother who also lives in the house. Her brother is getting married to this white lady and she lives in the house with him. I have no idea how they communicate. Apparently she can understand spanish but not speak it. So Ana asked us about gays. Apparently her future sister in law doesn't like us because of the stance we have on gays and apparently she has a gay daughter. So she asked us about that. So now back to this past Tuesday. We are talking with Ana when this lady comes up the stairs. Her name is Lisa. She comes and sits down and says I have a question for you guys. I was super nervous because i thought she was going to ask us abiut gays. Well she ended up asking us about a recovery program. We talked to her about it and stuff and it turned out to be really cool. Apparently she has been clean for 10 from meth. So that was pretty cool. Then also that night we taught Ernesto the word of wisdom and he accepted it super easy. He also told us that he bought a tablet to bring to church so that he could look up the scriptures faster during the second hour. It was way sweet!
So then on wednesday we went on exchanges. I went with elder moulton. We went and played soccer with the ward at night because they had an investigator that went. It was a lot of fun and way cool. Elder moulton is a super quality guy. He is from west Jordan. He actually got his appendix out in the mexico MTC. He got some infection from the IV too so he had to go home for some time, but now he has come back out! He is a super aweosme guy!
Now for Thursday. We had a lesson with this lady named Raquel. She is one of the super strong believers in the bible so it was very difficult talking with her about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. We then went by a members house that night that had asked us to come over. It is a white lady and her husband is from bolivia. She doesn't speak spanish, but he speaks English. We then went to go by Angel's house but he wasn't there. His wife was though and she let us come in and talk to her. She is still sick from the flu. She has gotten better though. We had the Rodriguez family with us and they are super awesome and help out a lot.
So Friday we went and taught the niece and nephew of a less active member. They are super cool and want to come to church and stuff, but so much relies on the less active member and she hasn't shown a whole lot of effort so far to come to church. I dont know how solid they are. We will see I guess. Then we went and ate with these less active members. They are super crazy and fun. The wife wants to come to church but the husband doesnt for some reason. We don't know why but he doesnt seem to like the church really and sometimes I feel like he doesnt like it when we come over. Then we were supposed to have a lesson with Ernesto, but he wasn't there. We were so surprised because he is always home! We went and tried on of these other people that we had been teaching and he was there. We introduced him to the Book of mormon and read with him a little.
Then Saturday was crazy because in the morning it was super sunny and super nice, but when the afternoon came around it started snowing. We had lunch with a member and she posted it on Facebook. She is a very nice lady. We then went to go give a blessing to the sister of a recent convert with the hermanas. We did it in Tue back of a restaurant and it wasn't the best setting. It was all fine though. I was so nervous waiting to find out what happens with transfers that night. We got it and i am staying and elder weiszhaar is leaving to Annandale to be with elder ammott.
Well i was reading in the Book of mormon this morning and it is while Jesus visits america. He tells the disciples that if they see him do it to do it and if they don't then dont do it. Man isn't thay pretty simple. Christ literally did everything perfectly so that we would know what to do and how to do it. He has given us what we need to know to make it back to god which really is the goal. The scriptures truly do provide us with the instructions on how to become better and be worthy to go back to God's presence. I hope we can all do that and prepare today. Love you all and i hope you all have a good week!
