First Transfer! Almost... - Week 12 - Monday, December 26, 2016

So we had a zone training last week. It was really fun. The STL's  did a training about how we are helpers in bringing people to Christ. That was a big stress at the zone conference email two weeks ago. So the STL's  asked me and my companion to make a cake without any instruction or anything. It was very bad to say the least. It was a good little analogy. Then the ZL talked about Alma 24 and about the anti-nephi-lehis burying their weapons of rebellion. They asked us what some things are that we could give up to be more obedient missionaries. Something I am going to try and do is only read my emails on preparation day. I am also going to not think about life after the mission. There were about repentance few others.  I think I have about repentance picture that I will attach. So I ask you all, what is something that you could give from your life and replace it with Christ? We all have something. I know that I had many.

Then last thrusday we had return and report. It is basically where everyone that is being trained goes and meets with President to see how things are going. It was very long to say the least. I learned many things that I need to be doing. I am really grateful that I have this opportunity to learn and grow. The hardest thing for me has been accepting correction. No one likes to be told that they are wrong, but that is how we change and grow.

Christmas was great. It didn't feel at all like christmas, but it was chill. We had a Christmas program at church and I had to play. It made me wish that I would have not stopped playing the piano. I had to learn like 3 songs the day before. It was very stressful to say the least. It actually went really good though. The biggest surprise though was how many people were at church. Actually more like how many people weren't at church. I would think that out of all the days that most people would come on christmas, but it was the exact opposite. I would probably guess that there were less than 100 people. Our ward is about 200 people too, so that is less than half. I was honestly really dissapointed.

Our investigators are progressing very well. Elmer and Candy are amazing people. They are the biggest reason that I stay sometimes. When it gets hard I just think about them and how I can't leave them. They carry their book of Mormon around with them every where and it's amazing. They even participated in the Christmas program yesterday! It was their second week at church! Our other investigator Rosa is coming along too. She is becoming more open with us and I can even see her testimony growing even if she can't see it.

Love

Davis
