Well another week has come and gone. This past week was filled with many meetings. We had a zone training on last Tuesday, then we had a multi-zone conference on Thursday and then to cap it all of we had a multi-mission conference on Saturday. The multi-mission conference was with the DC North mission. It was really fun and I learned a lot of things.
So far I have just been out in the field for two short months. I wish that I could say that it has flown by, but it has started to speed up. The hardest thing is trying to balance being myself with being a missionary. That probably doesn't make sense. That is the best way I could think of to describe it though. We have had a lot of changes happen in this last week. They really are for the best though. One thing that my companion has said is that the mission is the school for life. It really helps to prepare you for the future. I feel like I have learned so much already and I have only been out for three months. I hope I keep learning more and more.
There is a quote by CS Lewis that I really like. It is this," We can say we believe in Christ as we believe in the sun at noon day, not that we can see it, but that by it, we can see everything else." I love this so much. None of us have seen Christ, at least I don't think so... If you have please let me know and I would love to hear all about it. We may not have seen Christ, but we can see the role he has in our life and the lives of others everyday. On a sunny day we can see the flowers and the trees, but we don't have to see the sun to know that it is there. We can see everything it illuminates and gives life to. As we live our lives we can see how Christ illuminates our lives. We don't have to see him to know that he is there though. He loves me and you and even your neighbor down the street. I never know what to write in these emails, but I always write them still.
I hope that you all take time to get to know your family more everyday. Maybe put down your cell phones that everyone is consumed in and talk to someone. Talk to your mom or dad or brother or sister without checking or looking at your phone for an hour. I bet it would be hard for most people, but you aren't most people. I love you all and I am so glad that I don't have the distractions of my life before the mission in my life right now. I love you all!
