One of the funnest things that we do sometimes is start making these super sweet beats with the random things we have. We have someone on the pencil, someone on the PMG and then people just using random stuff. It is way sick. Just imagine that scene from Tarzan where the monkeys trash the people's campsite and make that sweet song, but it is a bunch of missionaries instead. Not to brag or anything either, but we are actually pretty good! Just wait we may coming out with our first soundtrack in the next week or so.
Man I will say that I absolutely love my teachers! They are so awesome. Especially Hermana Cottrell. I feel like she just has a way to connect with us and help us understand and feel the spirit. I really feel like she cares about us and she is so awesome! We made our own investigators this week and we are teaching each other. I am way excited for this because I feel as if it will be more real than just teaching our companions acting as whoever. I also finally met someone going to my mission and she is speaking Spanish too! So happy because I thought I was all alone!
Let me just say that hosting is the best thing that happens. I got to host 3 missionaries and it was awesome. It made me kind of sad to see people dropping off missionaries. It brought back memories and it made me sad when I saw people crying too. It was way cool because the very last kid that I hosted was from Riverton and I actually worked with him for quite a while at Rose Creek. I didn't even recognize him at first because everyone looks like another missionary and then I recognized him and I was pumped! It was so much fun though. I hope we get to do it again. This other district in our zone has done it for three straight weeks so fingers crossed! We get to host tomorrow too so super pumped about that!
Well it is always a good day when you get to hang out with your mom for a little! If you ever want to get out of the MTC and see your family just go to the dentist. Your teeth can never be too clean! It was really nice to be with my mom and talk to her. I feel like I had so much to say and so did she! It was great! It was cool to drive past home... kind of. It was nice to see the mountains I am so used to though and be out in a place that is familiar to me that's not the MTC. Although seeing mi madre was definitely the highlight of the week. Hopefully she enjoyed it as much as I did even though I don't think that is possible. Let me just say that to never underestimate a mother's hug. My mom probably thinks I am being sarcastic but I am not don't worry! It was really great ha!
I read the story of the brother of Jared this week. If you really think about it it is kind of a different story. I just imagine Jesus being like how are you going to have light in your little ships? And the first thing that the brother of Jared thinks is I'm going to make some stones and then God will touch them. Duh! Of course why didn't I think of that! They obviously knew they couldn't have a fire. So what this story tells me is when I am lost in the forest at night and I need a flashlight I can just find a rock and ask Jesus to touch it and it will light! Well joking aside yes and no. When we are confused about something or are struggling we need to act and do something about it. Whether that be pray or read your scriptures or whatever else you need, to do something first. Then after you need to ask Christ for help because there is no way that you are going to be able to light those stones by touching them. If you can then you are probably working with the devil or have way more faith than I have. He can light up our lives when we are in the dark. He can help us be happy and become better people everyday.
Please read Romans 8:35-39. It is some great stuff that I think everyone needs. Oh and also please everyone watch this video and be inspired.
