Well hello everyone. I hope that you have all had a splendid day and week. I know that weeks can seem like along time, but they can really go by fast! This was one of those weeks. I always feel so tired at night, but at the same time can't sleep. I don't know why I wrote that, but it is there so I am not going to get rid of it.
So I will just get into it. So last Monday we went by the dominican family and gave them the book of mormon for kids and read a little bit with them. The we went by this less active member that wants to learn English and come back to church. It went pretty good. She is from Peru and just got here about a month ago. So that was our Monday.
On Tuesday we had a lesson with Donny. He is doing pretty good and is very willing to do things. His parents are still not very supportive though. We will see what happens with him. Then we went be the Contreras family to invite them to a fireside that we are going to have this coming month. They seemed excited to come to it. I don't know if you remember them, but we were teaching them a while back but they wouldn't really do anything. We then went by a members house that night and ended up giving her a blessing. She is a very awesome member.
Wednesday not a lot happened. We looked for a lot of people. We had a lesson with this lady, but she didn't seem very interested. We then went and saw Ana finally after forever. She is weird and super busy. She is super cool and has potential but doesn't do a whole lot and is hard to meet with.
Thursday we had a lesson with the Dominican Family again. They had read in the book of Mormon for kids. They work Sundays though so they can't really come to church right now. If they could come they would totally be baptized. So we will just have to work with that. Then that night we met this old white lady knocking and we said a prayer with her. She was a very kind lady that has a lot of ties to the church.
Friday we found this super awesome guy that me and my old companion had contacted back in January. Back in January he had told us how he went to our church in El Salvador. He had loved it, but since he has been here he hasn't had the chance to go to church because he works so much. Well when we found him on Friday he is now not working the weekends. He then told us to teach his niece about Joseph Smith and Moroni. It was way funny. He is a super awesome guy and has a ton of potential!
We had district meeting and then did some service to help this lady plant some trees. It was pretty good and a lot of fun. We had dinner with the Pedro's. I love that family a ton. We will definitely come visit them. They invited me to their daughters birthday party in August. haha.
Saturday we taught this guy from Puerto Rico. He was an interesting guy. Then we saw these people moving some stuff and we offered to help. They ended up being members and we helped them out and it was cool. Then we had dinner with a member and I made some enchiladas. They were super good. Maybe better than dad's. Don't tell him that. Then we had a lesson that night with Ernesto. We found out that his girlfriend doesn't want to get married because she is applying for political asylum and apparently when her friends did it she wasn't granted political asylum because she was married for some reason. I don't understand it all but yeah.
Sunday Enresto came to church and also Jose and Reina! It was super awesome! We had a lesson with them after church and Reina had read 103 pages in the book of mormon. That was insane. Jose read 12 chapters, but he is still very doubtful of many things. We had another member there and she helped a lot. She is from Uruguay too. There aren't many people from Uruguay. Then we went by the Urbina's house and had dinner with them. They are awesome
Then today we drove out to the edge of our mission and had lunch at this little cafe place and it was so much fun. Best p day ever. We took a lot of pictures.
So this week I was thinking a lot about how I could change some habits of mine. I was just sitting at church and the thought came to to try to fill my days with more good stuff to do. I had never thought about that before. I was like man that is not that bad of an idea. So so far it has been going great. So yeah there is my short little spiritual thought thing.
Hope you all like it. Have a great week!
Elder Larsen
