Week 1 - Tuesday, October 11, 2016

Man you have no idea how long I have waited for this day. Well it was 6 days, but it honestly felt like the longest 6 days of my life. We are so blessed to have the technology that we have to be able to communicate so fast. That is one of the things that I have already noticed here in the MTC.

Well my District is so sick! No one is going to the same mission, but we are all learning spanish. We have people going to Chile, Nicaragua, Colorado, Texas, Chicago, Argentina (Two going there, but different missions), Ogden and Washington. That is not even the coolest part! There are two people in the district from South Jordan and one from Herriman. In fact the one from Herriman is my companion! His name is Elder Buttars. It is way crazy. The sister from South Jordan I was actually in ALPS with back in middle school! Our district leader is from Florida and he is black. He is so funny and he is in our room. He always jokes around about how cold it is here. He is the one going to Ogden too lol. I love my district and I feel like we are so tight already!

My zone does a soccer draft Friday and then they play on Saturday! It is so much fun! There is this kid in my district who is going to play soccer at BYU, so you could say he is pretty good. So far though I have been able to participate in 3 blessings and in one of them I anointed the oil so that is pretty sweet! Basically half our zone is either sick or dying. Our heater in our room is broken too so it is freezing at night.

So far we have taught three lessons all in Spanish and they have all gone pretty well. We can communicate our message well and I think we are going to ask her to get baptized tomorrow! So apparently we are an intermediate class and I am probably the worst one in the class. On Thursday I was sitting in class and I was just thinking about I couldn't understand anything. Basically everyone can talk about most things in Spanish except me. So I was kind of discouraged, but I just fought through and I am doing decent now. The only thing is we pray so much and we are constantly kneeling. I think I am going to get permanent bruises on my knees.

So this morning actually I went and got in the shower. I get out of the shower and go to get back in the room and there standing next to the doors in his towel too is elder Buttars. He tells me that he forgot to leave the door open and we didn't know where the other companionship in our room was. So we sat in our towels for about ten minutes and all of a sudden there was an announcement over the intercom and it said that there would be girls cleaning the building in the next few hours so we needed to make sure that all the elders were dressed appropriately. I don't know what the exact definition of appropriate is, but I am pretty sure just towels wouldn't meet that definition. So we hung out in our towels preparing at any moment to hang out in the stalls of the bathroom until finally some very kind elders in another room offered us some clothes and we got to go to the front desk and get a new key. It was great thing to do on our first P-Day.

I can read my emails whenever I want so feel free to email me whenever or write me letters. Letters and mail are like gold in the MTC or at least that is the way I look at it. My address is:

Elder Davis McKay Larsen

NOV 16 DC-SOUTH

2005 N 900 E Unit 71

Provo UT 84602

It would really mean a lot. You guys are awesome and I miss you and love you!

Con amor

Davis

PS: Happy birthday last Saturday Kate!😄
