Black Santa and Black Jesus - Week 10 - Monday, December 12, 2016

I would just like you to know that we have a painting of the last supper, but everyone is black so it is pretty dope.

So last Wednesday we had an exchange with the zone leaders in Mt Vernon! they speak Spanish and are way cool! I went with this elder named Elder Bladder. He is from California and was companions with my companion while they were in the MTC. This guy has no fear and will talk to anyone without fearing them. Not to be racist but there are some pretty scary black people, at least in my opinion, that we talked to. He talks to everyone too, Spanish or not. It is really good of him to do. We went and visited some people and at one point we saw this one guy just chilling under a tree so we went and talked to him. He told us how he used to be a member of the church, butttt  he was excommunicated when he was 8 with the rest of his family. I was like oh shoot. He then asked us, very politely of course, if we would like to get schooled/educated using the bible. I don't remember if we said yes or not (we probably didnt), but he told us how we couldn't be elders for some reason from the bible. I don't know what was going on but I was praying that Elder Bladder would get us out of there because I had no idea what to say. He told the man that we had to go, but he also asked if he knew of any people that were Hispanic that lived around by where we were. He surprisingly told us where they lived. This guys is great.

So while I was with him we got into this little apartment and we taught the restoration. When we taught it I felt the most confident and the spirit the strongest I ever had before teaching. I taught the first vision and man it was amazing. It was probably the best teaching experience I have ever had so far. These are the moments that I love about the mission.

We have a few investigators right now. We are teaching this part member family and the wife isn't a member. We are pretty sure she is going to get baptized we just don't know when. She has a few things holding her back right now. Then we are teaching this family and man they are ready. We are meeting with them on Wednesday and we are probably inviting them to get baptized. We walked into our last lesson and the wife was listening to the book of Mormon and we hadn't even talked about it yet! It was so cool! They seemed really excited to read the Book of Mormon though so it should be good! Well hope you are all doing good and have a good Holidays. Tell someone you love them this week! I am going to tell you all I love you!
