Man. It is a new year! I hope that you are all doing good! Things are going super good here! This past week was super cold though and we couldn't go out some of the nights. We have been doing super good though. We had a super awesome lesson this past week. We were teaching this eternigator and we were about to finish the lesson when his mother in law came in and sat down. She had just barely got here about 8 months ago from Mexico. We asked them if they had any questions. She said that she had a question. So we listened. She asked us," How do you pray?" It was so crazy to me. I have really taken advantage of the knowledge that we have of prayer. We taught her how to pray and then we offered a short example prayer. After we then invited her to pray. The prayer that she gave was probably the most heartfelt prayer that I had ever heard in my life. It was really an amazing moment.
So this week I read in the Book of Mormon and about when they were in bondage. Before they are taken into bondage there is a scripture that says that the Lord will chastise his people to test their faith and patience. I really thought about that this week. I came to the conclusion that the scripture is right! I mean I usually agree with scriptures, but this one I thought was extra cool. I realized you tests and trials are a test of our patience and faith. It tests our patience in the way that we can be willing to endure the length of the trial. Then it tests our faith to see if we will be faithful to God and Christ. I believe that after we overcome our trials we are more patient and have an increase in faith. The people of Alma are really an example of that to me. I hope that you all can read the Book of Mormon at least once this year! I love you all and hope you have a good week!
