So apparently I have officially been out 17 months Now. Weird. Now for the week! On Tuesday we went to the DMV to help Ernestos girlfriend, yanira, with some stuff. Then she took us to McDonald's. She is the one in that picture with the littke kid too. Then we stopped by some other people in the afternoon. Then that night we found some new investigators. Only one of them seemed interested though. She is from honduras. Then we had a lesson with Ernesto and yanira. We had a member come too. He helped a lot. We found out they aren't married either so that will be a littke bit of a problem. It was a good day thiugh.
Then Wednesday was super fun! We went on exchanges and i went with elder moulton. I love thay guy. I dont know if you guys remember him, but he is super awesome! We had four lessons that day too, which was crazy! We had a lesson with the Salinas family and we invited them to come to church. We then fiund a new investigator and then went by Lucio and Jessica. I love them, but they didn't come to church this week. I have no idea what is up with them.
Then on Thursday we switched back and made our traditional exchange back restaurant run. It is too this hispanic restaurant by the church. We will have to go to it when we come back! Then we went and gave a blessing to a members daughter in law who is abiut to have a baby coming soon. Then we played some basketball with the kids. Then we went to diner with this member. So we were eating anf elder denning couldnt finish his food and he asked the member if he could take it to go. And she told him no. She was dead serious too. I was trying not to laugh. Then after five minutes the members husband just told his wife to let him take it and after a while she gave in. It was so funny!
Then on friday we had zone conference. That was a lot of fun. We talked more abiut Facebook and stuff. We really only use it to message people through messenger. Then Friday night we had a lesson with angel. Kind of. He gave us some tacos, but was also drunk so it was rough and we passed him to the other elders because he is in their area and he hasn't come to church or read in the Book of mormon for 3 weeks now. So yeah sad, but had to happen.
Then on saturday. It was not a very eventful day. We went and tried to contact a bunch if people. We got in contact with some of them, but a lot of them no. Yeah the night ended with us teaching a lesson. It was not really a lesson and they weren't super interested so we won't be going back anytime soon.
Now Sunday was pretty aweosme. We went to church and Ernesto showed up and that was awesome. I had been hoping that the Salinas family would show up because i was so sure they were going to come. So we did all the announcements and then had the sacrament. Then they opened the doors to let the people from outside coming and there were a ton of people out there. Then the whole salons famiky walked in! All 7 of them. They all squished into one of the side benches. It was kind of funny. Then tons of people went and talked to them and Zulma especially. It seemed like she really liked it. It was so awesome! Definitely the highlight if the week! Then the rest of the day was kind of whatever. We were going to eat pupusas with and investigator but she had to switch it to Thursday. We went by one of our other invstigators that night too and they are doing good. It was a pretty solid week overall.
Now folks I am almost done with the book of mormon. My ward at home did a book of Mormon read a thon and they already finished but I tried to do it with them. It has been really cool to read the book of mormon a little faster but still try and retain things. It has really helped me to keep up with the story and see how things are connected and stuff. I am super excited to finish it this week. I hope that the book of mormon can become a part of all of our lives. One of my friends in his weekly emails talked about feeling how president nelson says, which is to not be able to go a day without reading it. I feel like it would be really cool to get to that point. I am not there yet, but i hope to someday get there. I hope you all have a great week!
